Pumpkin Spice Flax Smoothie


Pumpkin season is upon us!

Pumpkin is actually very nutritious. The orange fruit is rich in Vitamins A and C, potassium, and fiber, making it a great complex carbohydrate choice.


Antioxidants in pumpkin may also help prevent chronic disease, like cancer and heart disease.


Orange fruits and vegetables have beta-carotene, which has been shown to promote healthy eyesight. You've heard that carrots are good for our eyes - well, so are pumpkins!


This high protein shake makes for a great fall breakfast on-the-go!


You will need:

1 banana

2 scoops vanilla protein powder

1/4 cup pureed pumpkin

1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1 cup almond milk

1 Tbsp ground flax seeds (not pictured)

Ice


Directions:

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Serve with extra pumpkin pie spice, pumpkin seeds, or pumpkin flavored whipped cream on top.
